SuperSexySoftware & Deck13 team up to bring back true horror with “The Shattering”

By | News | No Comments

Frankfurt, August 12, 2016 – Polish startup studio SuperSexySoftware has teamed up with Deck13 (Lords of the Fallen, The Surge) to release their ambitious debut title, The Shattering. The first person psychological horror adventure will be released in 2018 on PC.

The Shattering is about a fragile mind trying to piece itself together after tragic events. The player explores the mind of a man trapped inside his self-created hell. “You have lots of horror games nowadays but they are more about jumpscares and sadly not so much about what actually scares us.” says Marta Szymanska, Founder of SuperSexySoftware. “We want to change that. Our idea is to confront the player with the hidden fears that lie beneath an idyllic illusion of normalcy, only then one can truly understand the despair of the hero.”

However it is not all about the mind – the psyche influences the body significantly. The character will show realistic body reactions in moments of stress and fear. To celebrate today’s announcement SuperSexySoftware and Deck13 have released five fresh pre-gamescom screenshots showing off the unique style of the game.
The Shattering will be playable as a hands-on demo for members of the press at this year’s gamescom.

GC 2016: Watch the mighty CrossCode Gamescom Trailer

By | News | No Comments

Frankfurt, Germany, 08/12/2016  – Deck13 and Radical Fish today announce the release of a fresh new Trailer for the retro action RPG CrossCode. As the gamescom came out of nowhere this year, developer and Publisher decided to quickly prepared a short video for the game which will be shown off in the business area for members of the press.

CrossCode has been in Early Access since May 2015 and since gotten lots of updates. The feedback of the players so far has been overwhelmingly positive. It is a retro-inspired 2D Action RPG set in the distant future, combining 16-bit SNES-style graphics with butter-smooth physics, a fast-paced combat system, and engaging puzzle mechanics, served with a gripping sci-fi story. You follow a player called Lea as she logs into CrossWorlds – a fictional MMO of the distant future. Lea is not your average player though. She hast lost her memory and is (literally) mute. Now the only way to regain her memory is to play CrossWorlds, disovering all the places the game has to offer and meeting other players on the way – hoping they won’t mistake her for a bot.

Interested gamers are invited to join the community on Facebook or follow the developers on Twitter. Recent press materials can be found  here. To get to the Steam page, click here.

More information for CrossCode can be found on the official website.

Bertram Fiddle returns in November – forget about Sherlock!

By | News | No Comments

Frankfurt, Germany, 09.04.2016  – Last year Rumpus Animation released their first game – The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle – A Dreadly Business. A classic point and click romp around Victorian London which soon became a cult classic. Albeit a very small, secretive cult that hardly anyone has heard of.
Now, after a brief hiatus and successful Kickstarter campaign, Rumpus Animation are proud to announce the upcoming release of Episode 2 of The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle – A Bleaker Predicklement. A new and exciting installment of the dark humoured murder mystery series for iOS, Android and PC. Oh and hey ya! Here’s a new Trailer on Youtube!

In the first episode Geoff the Murderer slipped through Bertram’s fingers. Since then his reign of terror seemed to have ended so that the odd-nosed citizens of Old London Town could wheeze a sigh of relief. But now the sinister goings on have begun again and the dark, smog-filled streets and alleyways are once more gripped in with fear.
In Episode 2 – A Bleaker Predicklement, Bertram has been forced to take a job at Dulsworth’s Soap Factory but soon finds himself embroiled in mystery and is framed for a murdering he did not commit. Will he be able to escape prison? Can he dress up as a lady, escape to the countryside, defeat an unspeakable foe, return to London with the aid of a stuffed Dolphin, track down Geoff the Murderer and finally get one over on Sherlock Holmes?

This hilarious AND mysterious game is more perplexing, more puzzlier and even punnier than the first. A true adventure game in the finest tradition of the genre. Why, people are already begging for the remastered version to be released now.

The Adventures of Bertram Fiddle is a high quality production created by a small indie team based in Bristol, UK. Weaving together years of experience in making animation, the love of a good story and undeniably bad dad-jokes and now with actual experience of making games Rumpus are striving to make this the best point and click Adventure game ever.

In collaboration with German game developer Deck 13, creators of award winning Lords of the Fallen, Bertram Fiddle will be released in November 2016 on Steam and iOS.
